Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Heavy Equipment Mechanic
to join our maintenance team. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of heavy‑duty machinery such as loaders, excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, and other construction or industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience with diesel engines, and the ability to perform both shop and field repairs safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on heavy equipment.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on construction and industrial machinery.
Troubleshoot diesel engines, transmissions, and fuel systems.
Repair and replace components such as tracks, cylinders, hoses, and hydraulic pumps.
Use diagnostic tools and service manuals to identify faults and complete repairs.
Maintain accurate service records and document all work performed.
Weld or fabricate parts as needed for equipment repair.
Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards.
Travel to job sites for field repairs and maintenance when required.
Communicate with supervisors and operators to coordinate equipment availability and repair schedules.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic software and mechanical tools.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
