Job Summary

Responsible for independent operation of MRI equipment achieving high-quality images, maintaining optimal patient care while working with patients of all ages. Screening all patients and staff entering zones 3 and 4 to ensure magnet safety. Essential Functions

Perform all procedures proficiently and strive to maintain high quality. Includes proper positioning, selecting appropriate coils, and thorough knowledge of scanning protocols. Imaging studies completed in a timely manner, charged appropriately, and then taken to radiologist for interpretation as soon as possible after completion. Identify patients using two patient identifiers. Communicate with patient and/or medical staff concerning MR safety questionnaire and other pertinent clinical history. Obtain completed questionnaire and proper history to ensure magnet safety for patients entering department. Communicate with appropriate medical staff any sedation needs of patient. Inform patients and families of delays. Prepare scan room for procedures using approved cleaning protocols. Appropriately discard sharps and maintain appropriate level of supplies and linen in rooms. Properly prepare and administer contrast materials associated with MRI procedure that are within scope of practice as prescribed by a physician or in approved Radiology protocol. Implement emergency procedures, as needed. Perform department and hospital related computer functions pertinent to job. Enter and record all data accurately and promptly. Exhibit competency in performing quality control tasks associated with equipment and procedures to ensure standards are met. Stay abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift. Provide clinical instruction to staff technologists and students. As needed, will prepare staff schedules to ensure department is staffed properly and coordinate daily workflow. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. Minimum Requirements
Education – Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program. Experience – No experience required. In Lieu Of

ARRT registered in Radiology & MRI, OR ARRT registered in MRI; OR ARMRIT-American Registry of MRI certification BLS certified Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier) Proficient computer skills (database) Data entry skills Mathematical skills Work Shift
