Your mission: Own Jucebox's data infrastructure—Supabase databases, n8n automations, and AI-powered systems—to drive data accuracy, intelligent automation, and operational efficiency across all departments.
You will maintain and extend our centralized data architecture, build reliable integration pipelines, and ensure AI systems (Jugo and RETA) have access to accurate, timely data. Your work directly powers the internal command center (Jugo) that leadership uses to run the business and the advisor-facing AI copilot (RETA) that serves our clients.
This role is ideal for someone who has outgrown spreadsheets, discovered the power of relational databases, and now uses AI tools to build and iterate faster than ever before. You'll inherit a foundation that's already in motion—Supabase schemas deployed, n8n workflows running, integrations mapped—and take ownership of making it production-grade and scalable.
Outcomes: This role is designed to deliver clear, measurable improvements to Jucebox’s data infrastructure, automation reliability, and decision‑making capabilities. Success in this role means transforming fragmented data into a centralized, production‑grade database system that supports operations, leadership reporting, and AI‑powered products. The Data Systems & Automation Manager will ensure that data is accurate, secure, scalable, and trusted across the organization.

Troubleshooting complex data issues and implementing durable, long‑term solutions
Database Architecture & Design
– Designs normalized, scalable relational schemas that support real operational and application use cases.
End‑to‑End Systems Ownership
– Owns data systems from source integrations through automation pipelines into databases and reporting layers.
Reliability & Monitoring Mindset
– Thinks in terms of failure modes, alerts, SLAs, and durability—not just “happy path” functionality.
Automation as Infrastructure
– Treats automation workflows as production systems, not one‑off scripts, with documentation and ownership.
AI‑Assisted Builder
– Uses AI tools to accelerate SQL, automation, and documentation work while maintaining full accountability for correctness.
Root‑Cause Problem Solver
– Diagnoses issues at the system level and implements fixes that prevent recurrence.
Clear Technical Communicator
– Explains complex data systems clearly to non‑technical stakeholders and documents decisions for future maintainability.
High Standards Operator
– Holds a high bar for data accuracy, security, and system performance at all times.
Requirements:
Production Database Ownership
– Proven experience owning and operating production relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent), including schema design, query optimization, and access control.
Supabase or Equivalent Experience
– Hands‑on experience with Supabase or similar backend platforms (Auth, database policies, storage, or edge functions). Ability to make database systems production‑grade.
Automation Pipeline Development
– Experience building and maintaining reliable data pipelines using n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar tools, with monitoring and failure handling.
API & Integration Expertise
– Demonstrated experience integrating third‑party systems using REST APIs, webhooks, and OAuth 2.0, including managing authentication lifecycles.
Spreadsheet‑to‑Database Migration Experience
– Direct experience migrating complex Google Sheets‑based systems into structured database tables without breaking business operations.
Data Quality & Reliability Ownership
– Experience implementing validation rules, monitoring, and root‑cause fixes to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems.
Reporting & Application Support
– Ability to support dashboards, internal tools, or applications with well‑structured database views and performant queries.
Location & Time
– Full‑time, remote role. Availability required during standard business hours (9am–5pm local team hours).
Compensation
– The position is hourly contractor, with time tracked via Hubstaff and paid on a bi‑weekly schedule.
Computer: Less than 3 years old, high quality video camera and audio for meetings, high‑speed internet with average speeds above 25 MB/s or higher.
Quiet home office setup, reliable, fast internet connection with a modern computer.
