CompassX is seeking a
Business Intelligence Developer
with experience across
Tableau
and
Power BI
to support dashboard delivery. This role will focus on dashboard development, data validation, and collaboration with stakeholders in a fast‑moving consulting environment.
This is likely an initial
2‑3 month contract , but could be extended through great delivery.
We are open to two types of candidates:
Tableau and Power BI Developer:
Strong in both Tableau and Power BI and able to create dashboards proficiently in both tools.
Power BI‑first Developer:
Strong in building Power BI dashboards and some exposure to Tableau.
What you’ll do
Build, enhance, and maintain dashboards in Tableau and/or Power BI
Support and modify existing dashboards, including working with underlying SQL and calculations
Translate business requirements and wireframes into effective visualizations
Develop and optimize DAX measures (Power BI)
Use SQL for data validation, profiling, and troubleshooting
Own work from requirements through development and quality checks
Collaborate with consultants and stakeholders to iterate on reporting solutions
What we’re looking for
Degree‑qualified in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
Hands‑on experience with Tableau and Power BI, and ideally able to build in both environments
Strong SQL skills
Experience supporting existing BI environments, not just greenfield builds
Ability to organize and clarify business requirements
Comfortable working independently in a project‑based consulting role
Clear communication and stakeholder‑facing skills
$55 - $60 an hour
This is an independent contractor position; the rate will vary based on experience. This will be on a 1099 contractor basis.
