proudly opened its new, state‑of‑the‑art facility in May 2024—an expansive, 100,000+ square foot space nearly twice the size of our original Tinton Falls location. Equipped with advanced diagnostics such as MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, and a PET scanner, the hospital features 52 exam rooms, 12 surgical suites, a dedicated emergency department, and expanded training spaces. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled

Cardiology Technician

to join our cardiology team. You will assist veterinarians with exams and procedures, handle lab work and medications, manage client interactions, and help maintain a clean, organized workspace. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, familiar with canine and feline care, and thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Position Overview The

Cardiology Technician

is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care and supporting veterinary medical teams. Responsibilities include assisting with patient needs such as hygiene, nutrition, comfort, and physical therapy, performing treatments and accurately documenting observations, providing patient restraint, setting up tests, nursing care, triage, discharge procedures, transporting patients, preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments, conducting basic in‑house laboratory tests, and maintaining laboratory and surgical areas. Strong communication skills and collaboration with doctors and technicians ensure high‑quality patient care and exceptional client support.

Compensation

Credentialed Technicians: $27—$31/hr based on experience

Non‑Credentialed Technicians: $22—$26/hr based on experience

The final compensation offer will be based on the qualified candidate’s experience and ability to make an impact coming into the role.

Anticipated Schedule

Part Time

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

9am‑3pm

Key Responsibilities

Manage and provide for the patient’s needs such as cleanliness, nutrition, appropriate bedding, physical therapy, exercise, comfort, and support.

Perform required treatments and record observations legibly in medical records.

Assist in patient restraint, test setup, nursing care, and triage/discharge of patients.

Transport patients to and from the in‑hospital wards to pre and post‑surgical areas.

Assist with cleaning surgical equipment, packing/sterilizing instruments, and surgical suites.

Perform basic in‑house laboratory tests, complete forms for laboratory, file reports, and clean up laboratory area.

Monitor daily husbandry activities of in‑hospital patients.

Communicate with doctors and technicians regarding patient status or concerns.

Provide after‑care for patients and clients.

Follow established hospital policies and procedures when handling client concerns and complaints.

Document legibly and keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy.

Perform other job duties as assigned.

Cardiology Requirements

Assist doctors in appointment (loading rooms, restraining)

Assist with bloodwork, echocardiograms, chest taps, and physical exams

Assist during surgical procedures (setting up tables, assisting doctors and technicians, learning required equipment, maintaining, cleaning, and sterilizing the equipment)

Medical record keeping

Client communication

Animal restraint

Enter patient information into echo cardio machine

Enter results into medical record of patient

Fax information to referral veterinarian

Restock cardio room

Clean and maintain ECG/echo equipment

Load clients into rooms for appointments

Return animals to owner when appointment is completed

Scan x‑rays

Clean and maintain surgical equipment

Keep the C‑Arm room clean

Put on and take off event and halter monitors

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of an approved veterinary assistant program with an AVA certification.

Two years of experience working as a nursing team member in a veterinary hospital is required.

Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required; fluency in multiple languages is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

6 months of veterinary experience

Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)
