Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans and policies to optimize material acquisition.
Source, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, terms, and pricing to achieve cost efficiencies and mitigate supply chain risks.
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering strong vendor relationships.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and inventory teams to ensure timely and cost-effective material availability.
Ensure all procured materials comply with industry standards, quality specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Manage and mentor the purchasing team, fostering professional development and operational excellence.
Recommended Qualifications
5+ years of progressive purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven expertise in supplier negotiation, contract management, and ERP systems.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory control, and supply chain best practices.
Demonstrated ability to lead a purchasing team and manage complex vendor relationships.
Bonus Qualifications
Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
Experience with international sourcing and global supply chain management
PMP or other relevant project management certification
Advanced proficiency with ERP system implementation or optimization projects
