Position Overview We are seeking an Industrial Electrical Foreman to join our team. The Electrical Foreman, Industrial is a hands‑on leadership role, working alongside a crew of electricians to oversee industrial electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance. This role ensures project success by maintaining safety, quality, and adherence to project schedules while fostering a team‑oriented work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leads and works alongside electrical crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
Plans and coordinates daily work activities, assigns tasks, and provides clear instructions to crew members to optimize productivity.
Interprets blueprints, schematics, and ladder diagrams to guide crew members in accurate installations and troubleshooting.
Ensures compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety guidelines while promoting a culture of safety.
Collaborates with project management to review project scope, specifications, and schedules to ensure successful execution.
Monitors project progress, quality, and performance, addressing any issues or challenges that arise.
Participates in the selection, training, and development of crew members to foster a skilled and motivated workforce.
Communicates effectively with other trades, superintendents, and stakeholders to coordinate work and resolve conflicts.
Manages inventory, equipment, and tools, ensuring proper maintenance and availability for project needs.
Documents project activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and any changes to scope or conditions.
Promotes a positive work environment, emphasizing teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to company values.
Qualifications Minimum:
High school diploma or GED.
Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
Ten (10) years of experience as an Industrial Electrician, with demonstrated leadership skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
Experience managing and leading teams in an industrial electrical setting.
Experience working with electrical systems in water, wastewater, and hazardous environments.
OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in the successful performance of the job. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a one-for-one year basis or vice versa.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations as they apply in industrial, water, wastewater, and hazardous environments.
Knowledge of industrial electrical installation methods, troubleshooting techniques, and system maintenance.
Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, ladder diagrams, and technical documents.
Skill in organizing work, scheduling tasks, and prioritizing multiple responsibilities effectively.
Skill in using electrical tools, equipment, and technology relevant to industrial applications.
Ability to lead and manage teams, including mentoring and developing electricians and apprentices.
Ability to identify and solve electrical problems efficiently while making informed decisions.
Ability to enforce safety protocols and maintain compliance with industry best practices.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and project stakeholders.
Work Environment
Medium work environment. Indoor and outdoor work with exposure to uncomfortable and hazardous physical, ergonomic, and/or emotional environment. Work requires lifting up to 50 pounds and wearing protective equipment; exposure to environmental conditions, weather, climbing, crawling, lying, and working under pressure.
