You have the power to shape things to make them better.**About the Role:*** Providing day-to-day technical advice, creating designs with designers and technicians and interact with other specialists and scientists in a collaborative environment to reach program goals.* Initiating and/or implementing improvement projects including engineering solutions to improve designs, improve operability and safety and reduce cost of components and complexity.* Managing capital and expense project requests, schedules, costs, etc.* Able to interact with fabricators and suppliers to ensure products delivered are what is expected for the application.* Ensuring compliance with project work with appropriate engineering and industry standards.* Identifying and implementing new insights while gaining team consensus.* Able to shift focus and solve problems under pressure.* Craft, maintain, and update drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.**What you can bring to this role:*** Bachelor’s Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.* 5 or more years’ experience working in an industrial environment preferred.* On track to become a licensed Professional Engineer or already a PE.* Excellent digital literacy with the ability to learn new software and programs.* Experience with Microsoft Office applications is required.* Results oriented when given a task or project.* Demonstrates ability to adapt and be resourceful in the face of challenges.**What we offer:*** Competitive compensation packages, including pay-for-performance variable pay, recognition and rewards programs.* 401(k), employer match up to 6%, additional employer retirement income contribution (no vesting period)* Healthcare benefits: medical, Rx, dental, vision, flexible spending account, health savings account (generous employer contribution), life and accident insurance* Paid time off: 15 vacation days prorated in the 1st year based on hire date, 12 paid holidays, Care for Family leave and up to 5 bereavement days.**#LI-TL2****About the Location**Every day is a new and exciting challenge at the Alcoa Technical Center in New Kensington, PA, just north of Pittsburgh.
