Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – Full Time – Day Shift
Location 701 Winthrop Ave, Glendale Heights, IL 60139
Job Description
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self‑care strategies.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high‑quality care.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
Respond promptly to life‑threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Required) – Bachelor's of Nursing is also acceptable.
Certifications and Credentials
Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Basic EKG Certification (BEKG)
Basic Life Support – CPR (BLS)
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)
Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS)
Instructor PALS (PALS‑INSTR)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program – Advanced (NRP‑A)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Program
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Registered Nurse (RN) certification
S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification
