Required Education Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required. BSN plus at least 1 year RN experience preferred.

Required License/Registration/Certification Active Kentucky RN license (or TWP, provisional, or active compact state RN license in good standing). American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment.

Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50–100 lb daily and 25–50 lb frequently. Must stand, walk, and sit for long periods. Work may expose you to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury from patients or sharp instruments.

Job Summary Registered Nurses on PAV A‑9200 care primarily adult patients with complex medical conditions from trauma and acute surgical procedures. The unit provides progressive‑care nursing across all surgical subspecialties, continuous cardiac monitoring, and extensive wound care. Nurses deliver comprehensive, patient‑centered care, including assessment, documentation, planning, implementation, teaching, evaluation, and delegation to Nursing Assistants. Nurses collaborate with physicians and staff to increase communication and enhance patient outcomes, following university policies and federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities • Assess, document, plan, implement, teach, develop, and evaluate comprehensive nursing plans of care. • Deliver direct patient care and ensure patient satisfaction. • Train and delegate duties to Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistants). • Adhere to university policies, procedures, and applicable laws. • Participate in collaborative care teams to improve communication and patient outcomes.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities • Knowledge of Maslow’s eight basic human needs, Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns, and Swanson’s Caring model. • Excellent direct patient care and critical‑thinking skills. • Basic computer navigation and internet use. • Strong communication, organization, prioritization, and delegation skills. • Ability to advocate for patients and families; teamwork and independent work.

Preferred Education / Experience BSN with at least 1 year RN experience.
