The California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) invites applications for the position of
Recreation Therapist, Correctional Facility (CF)
at High Desert State Prison (HDSP), Susanville, Lassen County, CA.
Pay & Location Base pay range: $9,159.00 – $9,903.00 (per state schedule). The role is located in Susanville, Lassen County, CA and may be limited‑term, potentially becoming permanent.
Job Description and Duties
Develop, implement, and evaluate therapeutic recreation programs for incarcerated individuals.
Instruct and motivate patients in individual and group recreation therapy.
Monitor and document treatment progress and collaborate with other health‑care providers to incorporate recreational activities into treatment plans.
Maintain order and supervise patients to protect safety of persons and property.
Under the general supervision of the Senior Psychologist, Correctional Facility (CF) or Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I, CF.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college with a major in recreation or recreation therapy that includes supervised field work.
Ability to present evidence of graduation or equivalent and completion of required field work.
