Position Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) supports the overall health, safety, and well‑being of employees by promoting both physical and mental wellness in the workplace. This role delivers occupational and staff health services in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act, applicable state regulations, and nationally recognized nursing standards. The RN serves as a trusted health resource for employees, contributes to workplace safety initiatives, and supports a healthy, productive work environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clinical & Employee Health Services
Practice within the scope of the Texas Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Nursing Practice
Ensure compliance with Texas Department of Health regulations
Plan, implement, and oversee employee health screenings and medical referrals
Provide temporary, emergency, and first‑aid care for ill or injured employees
Promote employee wellness through health education and wellness programming
Support the prevention and control of communicable diseases through immunizations, early detection, surveillance, and reporting
Provide health information to help employees make informed health‑related decisions
Identify and report potential health and safety hazards to management and safety personnel
Recommend workplace practices that support a safe and healthy environment
Health Education & Community Engagement
Deliver and coordinate employee health education initiatives
Support and participate in onsite and community health activities (e.g., health fairs, flu clinics, immunization clinics)
Serve as a health resource and advocate for wellness initiatives
Administrative & Program Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with HIPAA/FERPA requirements
Monitor and support efforts to reduce health‑related absenteeism
Complete required Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) to maintain licensure
Stay current on staff health trends through professional development and conferences
Participate as a member of the company emergency response team
Maintain CPR Instructor certification and ensure emergency team members are CPR/First Aid certified
Assist with preparation and maintenance of first aid kits
Supervise and train nurse aides in clinic procedures and responsibilities
Adhere to all ReadyOne/ROICOM safety policies and procedures
Support organizational goals and perform additional duties as assigned
Maintain consistent and reliable attendance
Qualifications Education & Certification
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current
Texas Registered Nurse license
AHA
BLS CPR/AED certification
Certification in audiometric, vision, spinal, and acanthosis screenings (or ability to obtain within six months)
Experience
Minimum of
two (2) years
of professional RN experience
Experience in occupational health, primary care, emergency room, or manufacturing environments preferred
Physical & Mental Requirements
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to maintain emotional control and professional judgment in stressful situations
Occasional prolonged standing or walking
