Direct support professional - 1st Shift / Part Time / Milestone CRU

is hiring for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) role. This position supports the individual goals of the person served and helps them become integrated into their community in the least restrictive manner. The DSP may assist in areas such as mobility, activities of daily living, communication, cognition, health management, social networking, vocational, leisure time management, and community participation.
Responsibilities
Monitor and ensure safety 24/7 through on-site presence, one-on-one checks, and short interval monitoring as required.
Support crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution.
Establish collaborative relationships built on trust and empathy through consistent and meaningful communication.
Foster partnerships with individuals served, the community, and other professionals.
Assist with activities of daily living and personal care to promote problem-solving, communication, and independence.
Support participation in social and leisure activities, including transportation to events and in-house activities.
Monitor health by tracking vitals, promoting positive behavior, attending medical appointments, and documenting care plans accurately and timely.
Help connect individuals with community opportunities to develop relationships and pursue goals (employment, education, volunteering).
What you will bring / Qualifications
You possess a strong desire to help others with empathy, patience, understanding, enthusiasm, and dedication.
Trustworthiness, integrity, and honesty; respect for diversity and inclusion.
Professionalism in communication, reliability, teamwork, attendance, and punctuality; willingness to ongoing education and growth.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid State of Michigan driver’s license.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to become certified in CPR/First Aid.
Commitment to scheduled shifts, assigned duties, and performance expectations.
Basic computer skills.
