The Observability & Monitoring Engineer will support and enhance the monitoring ecosystem for an enterprise application that manages Medicare claims data and reporting. This role focuses on evaluating existing monitoring and observability tools, integrating them into a unified solution, and recommending improvements to increase system reliability, visibility, and operational efficiency. The role requires a proactive engineer who can assess current implementations and drive meaningful enhancements rather than provide reactive support. Key Responsibilities

Integrate existing monitoring and logging tools into a unified observability solution Design and build dashboards to support system visibility, reporting, and operational insights Evaluate current monitoring tools and platforms and recommend architectural or tooling improvements Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve system observability and reliability Support monitoring and observability for AWS-based services and environments Partner with CI/CD teams to ensure monitoring is embedded across build and deployment pipelines Support database monitoring and performance analysis for relational database systems Provide guidance and recommendations to improve monitoring strategies, including potential use of advanced analytics or automation Required Qualifications

Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools, with hands‑on expertise in at least two of the following: Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Graylog, Splunk Experience integrating multiple monitoring and logging tools into a cohesive ecosystem Strong experience working with AWS cloud services, including EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and container platforms such as ECS or EKS Experience creating dashboards and implementing observability best practices Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes, including Jenkins, QuickBuild, and Bitbucket Experience supporting and monitoring relational databases such as MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to assess and improve existing systems Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with modern observability concepts such as distributed tracing and centralized logging Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to drive system improvements
