Job Description
Parsons Special Programs and Systems group is hiring cleared software engineers to develop specialized software within a first-class team of developers, computer scientists, and cyber specialists. Specifically, you will have the opportunity to:
Part‑time Engineer opportunity ideal for student
Participate in or lead design and code reviews
Create real‑time/stream/batch processing software
Develop scalable, web‑based data visualisation and analytic platforms using Java, Spring, servlets, Extract Transform Load (ETL) pipelines, microservices, message brokers, and scalable databases (Hadoop, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL)
Build and deploy software using Python, Gradle, Docker, Vagrant, Ansible, Maven, Gitlab, and/or Bash.
Learn about new software and hardware technology platforms
Required Qualifications
Active Top Secret SCI clearance
Work in person in Centreville, VA OR Charlotte, NC
Working towards a degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline
Java, C++, or JavaScript development skills
Desired Qualifications
Active polygraph
Experience working in a Linux development environment
Knowledge of networking concepts including the OSI model
DevOps experience with Jenkins, Gitlab, Gradle, CMake, Zabbix, and/or Vagrant
C++ experience with Boost, TBB, and/or DPDK
Virtual machine and/or containerisation experience with VMWare, Libvirt, Docker, and/or Podman
Deployment script experience with Ansible or Salt
Operational Linux skills with technology such as SNMP, NTP, Systemd, Cron, DNF, and/or Git.
Structured Query Language (SQL) experience for example with MySQL or PostgreSQL
NoSQL experience for example with Hadoop, Elasticsearch, or MongoDB
Spring Boot experience
Scripting experience for example with Python, Bash, or Shell
Front‑end (full‑stack) development experience with Angular and Material‑UI using TypeScript
Security Clearance Requirement An active Top Secret SCI security clearance is required for this position.

Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $35.05 - $61.35
