**To be eligible for hire as a Counselor** (exempt salaried 2):KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:* Knowledge of individual and group psychotherapy, counseling, diagnostic assessment, psychological and career testing, consultation, outreach, and crisis intervention.* Knowledge of group psychodynamics and supervision.* Skill in oral and written communication.* Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.* Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.* Education: Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university.* Experience: Five (5) years of clinical practice in total, including experience gained throughout the Educational training.* Licenses/ Certifications: Licensed or license-eligible to practice psychology in the State of Maryland within 1 year from hire.* Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.* Experience: Two (2) years of clinical experience in an ambulatory mental health setting.* Licenses/ Certifications: Licensed or license-eligible as a mental health provider in the State of Maryland.* Other: Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) may also be considered with at least 2000 hours of post-graduate supervised clinical work and the ability to obtain a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) license within one year.The University of Maryland, College Park is the state's flagship university and one of the nation's preeminent public research universities.
