Junior Target Requirements Engineer
at KODA Technologies, supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Threat Systems Engineering Directorate team. The role involves managing the Agency's assessment objectives as requirements for MDA flight tests. The candidate will be part of a team supporting the development of parametric target specifications and trajectory, radar cross-section (RCS), and infrared (IR) signatures, encompassing intelligence assessments for Missile Defense System design, test, and performance assessments.
What You'll Be Doing The junior engineer will perform research and technical/engineering tasks necessary to create products that support the development of flight test target requirements, using a parametric threat space (PTS) methodology. Analysis involves developing bounds for PTS, such as kinematics, RCS, and infrared signatures, using various software tools and analytical techniques. The analyst will participate in writing and reviewing products for accuracy, quality, and clarity, and will work closely with government Target Engineers to ensure products conform to engineering best practices.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
BS degree in an engineering, math, statistics, or other related STEM field and at least 3 years of experience working on missile defense-related or other DoD projects.
Ability to research and evaluate intelligence-based threat system performance data and identify relevant threat parameters for target to emulate threat characteristics and performance to support test objectives.
Ability to utilize software tools to manipulate RCS and IR signature data to generate bounds.
Experience in technical engineering, identification of risks, and preparation of technical briefings.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
MDA experience
Basic understanding of radar and optical systems
Experience with tools such as MATLAB or Optical Signatures Code
Experience in Anaconda or Python programming languages
MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Clearance Active Secret Clearance is required; Top Secret Clearance is preferred.
