PURPOSE

Performs computed tomography (CT) procedures utilizing imaging equipment while providing quality care to patients of all ages. Requires self motivation to increase the level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease and new procedures as they evolve. Delivers excellent patient care and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service. Works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for variety of routine diagnostic CT procedures in accordance with physicians’ orders.

Prepares patients for CT exam, explains procedure and ensures technical quality.

Provides high quality CT imaging and prioritizes the patient as number one.

Works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.

Obtains, verifies and maintains all relevant documentation such as chart, patient history, pregnancy status, consent forms, policies and procedures, etc.

Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols and techniques.

Cleans and maintains CT scan equipment. Notifies supervisor of equipment repair needs.

Keeps inventory of CT scan supplies, stocks room supplies and makes orders for supply restocks as required.

Maintains compliance with Texas Medical Board and ARRT educational requirements.

Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for continuing education.

Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct.

Regular and dependable attendance.

Follows the core competencies set forth by the Company, which are available for review on ARC SharePoint.

Works holiday shift(s) as required by Company policy.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains work area.

Attends required meetings and in-services.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Required:

High school diploma or GED.

Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences or Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.

Specific Training in Computerized Tomography-GE VCT.

One or more years’ experience performing CT procedures.

Skilled in starting IV’s and injection of contrast.

Three (3) or more years of related work experience.

Certificate/License

Registered with and must be in good standing with American Registry of Radiological Technologist.

Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist - (MRT).

Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with advanced certification in CT.

Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card or within 60 days of hire required.

Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows.

Ability to understand, recall, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.

Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.

Work Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm.
