eMachine PV&V Engineer
Overview: We are seeking an
Engineer Product II – Product Verification & Validation (PV&V)
to support the design, testing, and validation of electric machines. This role involves planning and executing PV&V activities, collaborating across teams, and ensuring compliance with safety, performance, quality, reliability, and cost requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute PV&V plans and activities using John Deere’s internal PV&V application.
Track PV&V activities, create work requests, and report Activity Completion Rating (ACR) to leadership.
Perform lab tests, field tests, and electric machine teardowns to validate design requirements.
Interpret and implement standards, specifications, and regulations related to electric machines.
Deliver small- to medium-scale projects within established program management plans.
Create and maintain technical documentation to a high standard, ensuring backup and recovery protocols.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of PV&V plans.
Stay current with technology, regulations, and industry best practices through training and professional development.
What Skills You Need:
Minimum
2 years of experience
creating PV&V plans, work requests, and scheduling activities.
Experience with rotating components, electric machine design, testing, or implementation.
Knowledge of data acquisition equipment and instrumentation (e.g., accelerometers, thermistors, current transducers, vector network analyzers).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and schedule PV&V activities effectively.
Ability to travel up to 20% (local travel).
What Makes You Stand Out:
Knowledge of electric drive components (inverters, connectors, energy storage systems).
Familiarity with AI applications in PV&V.
Understanding of electric machine design details (load evaluation, electromagnetics, bearings, insulation, cooling, manufacturability).
Experience with accelerated test methods.
Proficiency in Windchill and Creo.
Strong collaboration skills across teams and disciplines.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Additional Requirements:
Metatarsal safety footwear required on Day 1.
