Thalle Construction Co., Inc. ("Thalle") is currently seeking a Field Engineer to assist us on a Dam Safety Modification project.

Job Title:

Field Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Field Engineer works to support project operations to plan and construct a safe and quality project. This position is responsible for assisting the Construction Manager and Superintendent with short‑term schedules, shop drawings, submittals, scheduling of subcontractors and materials, coordination meetings, as‑built drawings, job cost, procurement and field operations.

Generate and maintain concrete placement schedules and three week look ahead schedules

Conduct planning meeting with project production staff to inform schedule products

Track and assemble requirements for daily reporting through quality control personnel

Track and report schedule progress in the USACE Resident Management Software (RMS)

Track and report production quantities as provided by production supervisors.

Document change order work to ensure accurate details are captured to support costs submitted to owner

Participates in relevant daily huddles to ensure the projects are expeditiously and profitably constructed.

Establishes excellent working and professional relationships with the clients and their representatives and/or field inspectors.

Assists the buyout process, writes the requisition, and communicates all required information to the Project Team.

Attend applicable subcontractor coordination meetings to provide updates to schedules, drawings, and specifications

Complies with safety procedures/policies and addresses and/or elevates non‑compliance among all employees, subcontractors, and vendors.

Participates in the daily Task Safety Awareness and weekly Safety Meetings.

Conduct work with 100% integrity and professionalism

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Able to prepare reports in Excel and Word

Ability to understand and utilize P6 scheduling software, USACE Resident Management Software and Bluebeam.

Must have ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, subs and IC's, along with initiative, organization, and planning skills

Ability to review and understand plan specs and drawings

Able to meet deadlines

Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a field environment

Proficient in written and verbal business communications skills

Physical Requirements :

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
