Gastroenterology Physician Opportunity:
An ongoing need exists for board-certified Gastroenterologists to provide inpatient call coverage through 2026. This role focuses on weekday call coverage with no weekend responsibilities and requires ERCP capability.
Schedule & Coverage:
Ongoing coverage through 2026
Call schedule: Monday 7:00 AM through Friday 7:00 PM
Monday Thursday: 24-hour call (7:00 AM 7:00 AM)
Friday: 12-hour call (7:00 AM 7:00 PM)
No weekend call
Multiple coverage blocks scheduled throughout 2026
Practice Setting:
Inpatient call coverage
Hospitalist support available
Two colorectal surgeons in the community
GI clinic located within close proximity to the hospital
Clinical Responsibilities & Procedures:
Inpatient GI consults and call coverage
ERCP is required
General gastroenterology procedures as needed
Requirements & Qualifications:
Board Certified in Gastroenterology (Board Eligible not accepted)
Active Michigan medical license (IMLC accepted only with appropriate lead time and LOQ)
DEA required prior to start
ERCP proficiency required
Clean malpractice history required with no exceptions
Current NPDB self-query required
Ability to comply with electronic timekeeping requirements
Credentialing & Compliance:
Must meet all standard credentialing and employee health requirements, including immunizations, TB screening, and flu/COVID documentation
Submission must include full provider identification and contact details
Additional Notes:
Local providers are preferred
Travel and expense reimbursement is limited per policy, with specific lodging and reimbursement restrictions in place
