Project Executive – Chicago, IL A leading construction firm with a strong and growing mission critical portfolio is seeking an experienced Project Executive to lead complex data center and mission critical construction projects in the Chicago market. This role carries full accountability for project delivery, financial performance, client relationships, and team leadership across multiple concurrent projects.

The Project Executive will operate as a senior leader within the organization, partnering closely with ownership, clients, and internal teams to ensure operational excellence while supporting long term growth and repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

Lead planning, execution, and delivery of large scale data center and mission critical construction projects

Serve as the primary executive point of contact for clients, consultants, and key stakeholders

Own project financial performance including budgets, forecasting, cost control, and margin protection

Oversee contract strategy, subcontractor negotiations, procurement, and risk management

Ensure all work meets regulatory requirements, quality standards, and mission critical best practices

Drive proactive issue resolution and mitigation strategies to keep projects on schedule and within budget

Build, mentor, and lead high performing project teams including Project Managers and Superintendents

Support business development efforts through client relationship management and pursuit involvement

Oversee project closeout, commissioning coordination, and post project evaluations

Participate in leadership operating rhythms and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Required Experience and Qualifications

Fifteen or more years of progressive construction experience

Demonstrated experience leading data center or mission critical construction projects

Prior experience as a Project Executive, Project Director, or senior operations leader

Strong understanding of mission critical systems including power, cooling, controls, and commissioning

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously

Deep experience with budgeting, forecasting, and contract negotiation

OSHA certification required, advanced certifications preferred

Professional credentials such as LEED, ASHE, or CPM are a plus
