Summary As a Physical Therapist, you welcome patients and put them at ease. You provide PT to patients with care and compassion to ensure rehabilitation success.
Position Summary Will provide skilled physical therapy to UNITY clients per NY S Department of Health and Federal regulations.
Hours and Schedule Hours per week: 40. Schedule: Days, Monday - Friday, 8‑hr. shifts.
Responsibilities
Patient Evaluation – Assess patient impairment and current condition to evaluate rehabilitation potential; report on patient progress, communicate effectively with physician and other team members; counsel patient and family.
Treatment & Planning – Develop PT treatment plans for each patient, including training in functional mobility, use of assistive devices, therapeutic exercise, balance and coordination retraining, massage, heat, and cryotherapy; apply diagnostic and progressive functionality tests.
Leadership – Train, mentor, and coach team members to ensure department standards are met; address scheduling needs to ensure proper coverage.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy or Bachelor’s degree with prior experience as a licensed Physical Therapist.
Current New York State license or a limited permit as a Registered Physical Therapist.
If a New York State license or limited permit is not held, must be hired within 90 days of graduation from a New York State or APTA‑accredited program and meet Practice Exemption under NY State Physical Therapy License Requirements.
If working in home care or traveling between locations, a NYS license is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Physical Therapist experience.
Physical Requirements Medium work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly; requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
Pay Range $70,000.00 - $99,840.00
