Field Quality & Control Tower Engineer

The North America Quality organization is currently seeking a Warranty Engineer to join the Field Quality & Control Tower team (FQCT) at the Headquarters & Technical Center (QEC) in Auburn Hills, MI. The FQCT engineer will assist in administering and coordinating multiple vehicle systems, compiling project status reports, scheduling, and managing project meetings, agendas, minutes, and correspondence. The role reports to a team lead or supervisor/manager and requires knowledge of automotive and powertrain development concepts and practices. Opportunities are available in the Propulsion System Group for HVAC, Cooling, Intake & Exhaust.

Responsibilities

Facilitate cross‑functional project meetings, compile status reports, coordinate schedules, agendas, minutes, and correspondence.

Identify and analyze system requirements, define project scope and deliverables with multiple stakeholders.

Lead resolution of warranty‑related issues – accountable for problem‑solving, proposed solutions, validation, and weekly progress.

Lead triage of warranty claims, review and sort claims, bucket claims, review dealers and support Stellantis/Supplier reviews at Quality Engineering Center and manufacturing locations.

Establish and validate containment and permanent actions with Stellantis and suppliers.

Physically review product/process changes, internal metrics, and update control plans.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.

5+ years of experience in product engineering.

2+ years of experience in testing/validation/test method development, including fixture design, instrumentation, and data acquisition.

Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Well‑rounded automotive knowledge and ability to work well in a team‑oriented, unionized environment.

Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Project.

Working knowledge of Teamcenter.

Working knowledge of GD&T and full detail of drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Engineering.

Shainin RedX Black Belt.

Green Belt / Kepner Tregoe.

Design for Six Sigma.

Project Management certification.
