Production Team Lead
Working Hours:
Monday – Thursday 6:30 am – 5:00 pm Starting Pay:
$26.50/hour
Job Summary
The Production Team Lead, in the absence of the supervisor, provides leadership to the production team, coordinating production activities. Works to develop new employees, supports quality assurance activities and timely completion of all required production documentation. Duties include operation of all production equipment, safety, troubleshooting and maintenance of machines, and close coordination with supervisors, packaging operators, scheduling, quality assurance, maintenance, and warehousing.
Responsibilities
Responsible for daily operations; providing leadership, focus and direction to the operations team.
Lead daily start‑up meetings communicating production requirements for the day and OEE standards past and present.
Organize and plan labor needs such as vacation coverage, absenteeism and overtime; focus on managing labor to standard.
Implement and maintain 5S and lean manufacturing processes through Gemba walks and periodic Kaizen events.
Ensure employees receive proper training (Safety, operations, housekeeping) and conduct follow‑up meetings throughout the training process.
Work with HR and Plant leadership to attain long‑term development and career growth of operations personnel.
Lead operating teams in the execution of the TPM program and in problem solving short‑term business issues.
Perform periodic audits on operations processes and provide analysis to support initiatives or areas of opportunity.
Standardize operating processes such as changeovers, start‑ups and shut‑downs.
Implement cost control systems in waste, repair, maintenance, supplies and labor.Ensure all hourly employees’ time is recorded in the payroll system.
Develop and follow leader standard work.
Ensure plant policies and procedures are adhered to.
Work closely with HR to perform interviews and give input in the hiring process.
Perform all new‑hire 30‑60‑90‑day reviews and develop new‑hire training schedules/deadlines.
Follow and implement manufacturing discipline and hold direct reports accountable.
Handle employee disciplinary issues using proper conflict‑resolution techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Able to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work for long periods under pressure to produce results.
Proficient with a Windows‑based computer and most office equipment.

Ideal Candidate Will Have
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. College degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
Manufacturing experience in food production.
Physical Attributes
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to read and interpret documents.
