Job Type: Temporary (6 months) with the possibility of extension up to 1 year S.S.N. AND TN. VISA REQUIRED. HIGHLY INDISPENSABLE Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex vacuum systems and PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating equipment. The ideal candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), ensuring the operational excellence of thin‑film coating processes and critical plant utilities. This role requires a deep technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems within a high‑precision manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on PVD equipment, coating chambers, vacuum pumps, and related mechanical/electrical components. System Overhauls: Lead major overhauls and repairs on critical plant equipment, including sputtering systems, laser systems, cathodes, and heat exchangers. Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex malfunctions in vacuum systems, drive motors, actuators, cylinders, and VFDs. Facility & Utility Oversight: Maintain critical utilities, including RTUs, chillers, air compressors, DI systems, and generators. Operational Excellence: Perform daily facility walkthroughs to identify anomalies and implement immediate solutions to minimize downtime. SME Leadership: Act as a Subject Matter Expert during shutdown and rebuild activities; oversee maintenance services performed by subcontractors. Compliance & Safety: Ensure 100% adherence to LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, PPE requirements, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DOH). Documentation: Prepare detailed work order reports and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and SOP job plans. Continuous Improvement: Apply 5S methodology to maintain shop cleanliness and collaborate with Engineering on specialized projects. Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical degree preferred). Experience: 10+ years of hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment. Technical Expertise: Advanced understanding of vacuum principles, PVD processes, and thin‑film coating parameters. Skills: Proficiency in reading/interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals. Tool Proficiency: Expert use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Language: Advanced English. Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of EPA, OSHA, and NFPA regulations. Technical Skills
PVD & Sputtering Systems. Vacuum Technology (Pumps, Chambers, Gauges). Electrical & Control Systems (VFDs, PLC Troubleshooting). Facility Utilities (Chillers, Compressors, DI Water). SOP & Work Instruction Management. Soft Skills
