Job Title: Junior Mechanical Engineer
We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join a forward‑thinking team focused on commercial and industrial heating and cooling solutions. In this role, you will provide essential engineering support throughout a long‑term design simplification project and gain hands‑on experience in a dynamic environment working closely with a team to achieve project goals.
Responsibilities
Review designs and make recommendations to enhance design efficiency.
Support final assembly designs for heating and cooling units.
Engage in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) processes, particularly with sheet metal assemblies and wire routing.
Collaborate with engineers to ensure products are manufacturable.
Utilize Excel for data analysis and design support.
Conduct testing and support design evaluations in the test lab.
Participate in team projects, employing interpersonal skills to resolve conflicts and meet objectives.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
1‑5 years of experience in engineering support or design roles.
Strong proficiency in Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Exposure to HVAC systems or coursework in Thermodynamics, HVAC, or Thermal Fluid is a plus.
Familiarity with Matlab is preferred but not required.
Experience with AutoCAD, Creo, sheet metal, CAD, thermal analysis, and Excel macros.
Work Environment The role is based at the state‑of‑the‑art JCI JADEC facility, established in 2017, where you will work both in the design center and the testing lab. The work environment is highly collaborative, offering opportunities to work with engineers and gain valuable insights into the HVAC domain. The position includes 10 holidays following JCI's schedule and two weeks of paid time off.
Job Type & Location Contract position based out of York, PA.
Pay And Benefits Pay range: $35.00 – $41.00/hr.
