Technical Sales Representative
Industry Manufacturing / Industrial Parts & Components
Territory Camden, TN and surrounding area (within ~100 miles)
Schedule Field-based with some remote work (M-F)
Compensation Base salary + commission
Position Overview Our client is a manufacturer and distributor of industrial parts and components serving customers across the manufacturing, automotive, heavy diesel, trucking, and fleet industries. They are seeking a driven Technical Sales Representative to grow business through new account development while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships.
This is a field-based, “hunter” role focused on prospecting, relationship building, and consultative selling. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of industrial parts and components and thrive in a face-to-face sales environment.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify, pursue, and develop new business within the assigned territory
Conduct regular in-person sales calls, drop-ins, and site visits with both prospective and existing customers
Build long-term relationships with decision-makers, maintenance teams, and operations leaders
Serve as a technical resource for customers by understanding their equipment, applications, and parts needs
Recommend appropriate parts and components based on customer requirements and industry standards
Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through close and post-sale follow-up
Maintain accurate records of sales activity, opportunities, and customer interactions
Prepare quotes, follow up on proposals, and coordinate with internal teams as needed
Complete administrative tasks such as expense reports, CRM updates, and follow-ups from a home office as appropriate
Territory & Travel Expectations
Candidate must be located within approximately 100 miles of Camden, TN
Majority of time will be spent in the Camden, TN area with regular, ongoing client drop-ins
Frequent local travel is expected throughout the workweek
Qualifications
Previous experience in technical sales, outside sales, or business development
Strong working knowledge of industrial, automotive, or diesel parts and components
Proven ability to prospect, cold call, and develop new accounts
Comfortable working independently in the field while managing a territory
Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly
Base salary plus commission structure
Mileage reimbursement, gas allowance, or company vehicle (based on personal preference)
Company-provided: cell phone, laptop and credit card
