Overview
HNTB Corporation is seeking a Design Engineer for its Municipal Transportation Section in the Central States Office. The role focuses on designing municipal roadways for a variety of local clients and offers opportunities to work on complex infrastructure projects across the country.
Responsibilities
Complete assigned work within schedule and number of hours provided.
Responsible for preparation and/or modification of select portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
Develop project quantities and assist with cost estimate development.
Assist engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
Able to self‑sufficiently complete various tasks and duties including research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
and 2 years of relevant experience, OR
Master’s degree in Engineering
and 1 year of relevant experience.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, Knowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
Required Proficiency
Exhibits proficiency in applying engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
Displays proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCAD or other required software.
