Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of plant equipment. Maintain safe and efficient work conditions for mobile equipment, perform electrical work, collaborate with outside contractors on equipment, and keep parts rooms neat and orderly. Responsibilities & Expectations
Maintenance
Maintain high standards of housekeeping in shop area Visual inspections of all process equipment in plant/quarry All PM activities related to process equipment; greasing/oiling, maintaining filters, etc. Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues with process equipment Mechanical work involving hand tools and air-powered tools Reporting
Complete workplace exams and equipment pre-shift inspections noting any safety or equipment defects Generate necessary documents as defined by the quality system Communicate defects to manager Inventory
Assist in tracking inventory as directed Safety
Attend safety meetings Enforce company, local, state and federal safety policies and procedures Maintain Company and Federal House Keeping Standards Promote safety among co-workers Participate in Behavior Based Safety program Quality System
Implement all elements of the quality manual Maintain validity of documentation affecting the positions listed above Maintain validity of all procedures affecting the positions listed above Training
Provide on-the-job training, as assigned Verify on-the-job training, as assigned To back up any qualified position as assigned by supervisor To be backed up by any qualified team member as assigned by supervisor Perform other duties as assigned Attributes
LP09.500 Preventative Maintenance Must have welding experience Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes Must have a telephone and be open to call-outs Work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes Must be able to work 12 hour shifts for an extended day period during plant outages Proven self-direction and leadership abilities Good analytical and problem solving skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meet all required deadlines Must be a team player who works well with others Must be open to learn, and receptive to change Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers Must have a telephone available and be receptive to callouts Good decision making skills regarding safety Knowledge of basic computer skills Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, blueprints, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the lime industry Physical Demands
Access all areas within a site including heights, confined spaces, and climbing ladders or stairs Capable of performing the essential job duties Typically work in mining environment with occasional office environment Exposure to extreme heat and cold, noise, vibration, oils, and dust/fumes Required to stand, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, talk, see, hear, and sit Ability to lift over 50 pounds as needed Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED; 2 years technical school or 4 years industrial maintenance related experience Previous industrial maintenance experience Benefits & Equal Opportunity
