We are looking to hire a Patient Care Tech to work in the Wound Center. As a patient care tech, you will participate in the provision of safe, quality patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse through support of standards and philosophies of Genesis Medical Center. You will provide assistance to nursing staff and physicians in various patient care and non‑patient care activities, performing tasks in a caring and efficient manner that supports customer service and assists with department‑related housekeeping, supply/equipment/facility maintenance tasks.

Day Shift

Full Time 1.0 (40 hours a week)

General Requirements

Completion of one of the following: 75‑hour or 120‑hour Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, 136‑hour certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, Accredited Medical Assistant program, Accredited Radiography Technology program (for limited radiography) with valid State of Iowa Limited Radiographer Certification, currently enrolled in an RN program or successful completion of first semester of RN program

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA or Red Cross, live class only), obtained within 60 days of hire and maintained

Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter training (Child and Dependent Adult Abuse) within 6 months of hire, renewed every 5 years

Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows environment, web‑based navigation, email, MS Office)

Education

High school diploma/GED
