Manufacturing Visual Inspector - 2nd shift (w/ 10% differential pay)
We are looking for a Manufacturing Visual Inspector to join our newly forming team at the Petersburg, Virginia site. The role focuses on performing visual inspections on filled product off the filling line following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
About Civica Critical shortages of essential generic injectable drugs are an ongoing crisis in U.S. healthcare and have reached an all-time high. Over 300 essential medications are currently reported to be in shortage. Civica is a market‑based nonprofit solution created in 2018 to prevent and mitigate drug shortages and supplies medicines to health system members in 49 states.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Visually inspect finished product vials and syringes for defects.
Perform daily process activities, document work accurately and timely in accordance with procedures, batch records, and cGMPs.
Set up and adjust operating equipment, such as inspection machines, in accordance with procedures.
Perform and document quality checks on products.
Calculate percent defects on inspection results and reconcile components.
Complete eye exam and obtain inspection certification.
Assist other process functions as required.
Proactively identify and collaborate to resolve problems.
Basic Qualifications And Capabilities
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must be able to complete eye exam.
2+ years of experience performing inspections in a GMP environment.
Self‑motivated, flexible, and able to work in a small, fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Effective organization skills and attention to detail.
Must understand, speak, and write English in order to comply with necessary SOPs, SPECs, job‑specific training materials, GMPs, and other manuals.
Basic math skills to perform required calculations (multiplication/division).
Visual ability to detect defects.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously and within established guidelines, procedures, and practices.
Overtime, weekends and schedule adjustments may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a sterile fill‑finish facility.
Visual inspection experience of vials and syringes.
Schedule 2nd shift: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
