Excess & Surplus - Underwriting Assistant
The Cincinnati Insurance Companies is looking for an Excess & Surplus - Underwriting Assistant to support underwriters in all aspects of new business entry, renewal, and post‑issuance transactions.
The Cincinnati Specialty Underwriters Insurance Company offers a pay of
$20.00
hourly. Pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
Be Ready To
process new business, renewals, and post bind transactions in our policy administration system and broker management system
assist underwriters through all phases of the account from initial data collection to ongoing service and account maintenance
provide backup support to underwriters and other underwriting assistants
deliver timely customer service to our agency partners
order and screen miscellaneous reports as needed in the underwriting process
support with state compliance as needed
other clerical tasks as needed in support of the underwriter
complete a work schedule of 8:00 am - 4:45 pm
Be Equipped With
excellent interpersonal communication skills
ability to prioritize and organize work
proficient knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel and Outlook
ability in carrying out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form
strong attention to detail
willingness to work hard and learn in a dynamic environment
creative thinking and problem‑solving skills
self‑directed and highly productive with light supervision
ability to navigate web‑based applications
Bring Education or Experience From
AINS certification is preferred, but completion within three years of start date if selected for the position is also acceptable
completion of the ASLI designation is encouraged upon completion of AINS certification
knowledge of commercial insurance ratings process is helpful, but not required
