Job Description An employer is looking for a Data Center Technician in the Alpharetta, GA area. The candidate will work in a large data center facility with a small team to perform customer service operations and maintenance of data center network facilities. Responsibilities include weekly system checks, responding to customer service tickets, running monthly and quarterly tests, and working with generators, UPS, HVAC, fire detection devices, and security systems. The role also involves basic cabling, circuit installation, and data center installation of cages, cabinets, ladder racks, fiber trays, as well as addressing customer maintenance issues and facility maintenance.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience within a telecom or data center technician role
80% data center tasks, 20% facility related tasks (e.g., change RAM/hard drive, server not connected, running cables, awareness of maintenance, etc.)
Basic understanding of networking concepts and IT
Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
Excellent customer service skills and desire to be client-facing
Shift Monday‑Friday 9AM-5PM. On‑call every other week.
