About the Job The Shipping and Receiving Team Manager at Alfa Laval will drive customer order execution within the team according to an agreed plan and in line with safety, quality, delivery, and cost priorities. You will coordinate between different processes and support functions, ensuring the warehouse operates efficiently while maintaining high customer satisfaction. The role is onsite, located in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations.

Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency – with customer satisfaction the primary goal – by supervising, organising, and training staff and managing operational goals.

Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilisation, inventory and shipping methods.

Use strong working knowledge of ERP platforms (e.g., SCM+ or similar warehouse‑focused ERP tools).

Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day‑to‑day operational issues and reach short‑ and long‑term performance goals.

Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.

Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality and customer service.

Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service.

Schedule and oversee the warehouse staff, managing the flow and quality of work to maximise efficiency and minimise overtime.

Inspect material‑handling equipment, storage spaces and machinery regularly and oversee general maintenance when necessary.

Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with drivers and logistics partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree mandatory in supply chain management, science, economics or engineering.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Warehouse Manager, including coordination of hourly employees and direct supervision of 10 or more team members.

At least 2 years of ERP experience specifically in warehouse operations, inventory control or logistics coordination – interpreting ERP‑generated reports, KPIs and dashboards.

Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies.

Excellent problem‑solving skills and leadership qualities.

Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.

Ability to deliver effective written and verbal feedback.

License to operate a forklift.

Benefits At Alfa Laval we carefully determine your total compensation package based on market indicators and your specific job, background, skills and experience. The base salary for this role is typically $85,000.00 to $93,000.00.
