All About Store Leadership As a store leader, you run a profitable growth business that helps families discover joy. You lead a sales force of experts, advocates and consultants who meet guests’ needs and earn their loyalty. Core Competencies & Skills
Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest‑first culture.
Skills in retail business financials (e.g., payroll, profit and loss) and driving sales growth.
Experience creating store‑specific strategies and managing teams to deliver results.
Understanding of retail fundamentals: sales trends, inventory, guest patterns, pricing, and promotions.
Ability to set and plan quarterly priorities and achieve sales goals.
Business decision making based on market competition and guest insights.
Managing a large hourly team, including leaders of leaders.
Recruiting, selecting, managing talent across all departments.
Typical Responsibilities
Own the store’s business to drive efficiency and growth.
Leverage reports to make data‑driven decisions.
Lead sales growth in core categories by capitalizing on key seasons, events, and weekends.
Assess competition and use guest insights to remain the destination of choice.
Ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient operation.
Adhere to all safety and security training.
Respond to store needs and regulatory visits.
Model ethical conduct and hold the team accountable.
Guest‑Centric Team Development
Build a culture that values guest loyalty and promotes services like REDcard, Drive‑Up, Order Pick‑Up, Shipt, and Wallet.
Lead a knowledgeable sales force that prioritizes the guest experience.
Recruit, hire, and retain passionate team members.
Invest in training to enhance skills.
Manage individual impact through total store contribution.
Create sustainable talent strategies.
Maintain schedules that align with guest and business needs.

Handle and move merchandise safely, up to 40 lbs.
Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable attendance.
