EPC Project Manager

Jackson, MI is the preferred work location; flexibility may be considered based on project needs |
Work Environment & Schedule:
Minimum 40 hours per week (typically 45–50), with approximately 85% time spent onsite at office or field locations. Role requires frequent travel to project sites, flexibility for extended hours, and potential overnight travel during peak demands or storm restoration efforts. Position Overview The Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Project Manager supports the Electric Distribution Enterprise Project Management organization, which is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering low- and high-voltage distribution projects. These projects focus on large customer investments, infrastructure modernization, and system reliability improvements. The EPC Project Manager is responsible for managing small to medium-sized technical projects and supporting larger, more complex initiatives. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. Key Responsibilities
Plan and manage medium to large projects of moderate to high complexity Ensure projects meet scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans and schedules Identify and manage project risks, issues, and constraints Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution Manage multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development Lead project communications throughout the project lifecycle Facilitate forecasting, scoping, planning, execution, and closeout activities Ensure clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability among project team members Present project updates to senior leadership Develop and track performance metrics and project KPIs Identify and implement process improvements and best practices Validate financial forecasts and reconcile project expenditures Support storm restoration efforts and participate in on-call rotation as required Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Applied Engineering or a related field Minimum of 3 years of applied engineering or equivalent experience Project management experience following formal project lifecycle processes (PLP or similar) Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills Proven ability to collaborate across departments and drive projects to completion Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments Valid driver’s license Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Experience with electric transmission or distribution infrastructure Experience managing projects impacting large energy customers, municipalities, or agencies Demonstrated success in risk identification and mitigation Experience reporting project status to senior leadership
