The RN Unit Quality Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating performance improvement activities in concert with the hospital’s mission, vision and values, code of conduct and strategic plan. The coordinator plans, implements and facilitates Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) performance improvement activities.

Job Summary and Qualifications Essential Job Functions

Coordinates development and implementation of the BMT Quality Management Plan with the BMT Quality Manager.

Develops and implements plans for data collection, analysis and reporting of program‑specific performance measurement/assessment activities, identifies issues and opportunities, and draws conclusions from comparative data.

Plans and directs the performance improvement process in collaboration with department heads and other units, providing just‑in‑time education and encouraging innovative approaches to problem solving.

Prepares program reports and presentations using data for department managers, physicians and other stakeholders, and maintains a data repository for patient outcomes, volumes and other metrics.

Collaborates with Sarah Cannon, MHS Division and HCA to develop and create database system reports to support BMT performance improvement.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or another healthcare‑related field with a clinical background.

Experience: Two years of hospital quality experience preferred.

Licensure: Current Texas licensure as an RN or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.

Training: Completion of initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by the service line, facility and unit specific to patient population needs.
