Data Engineer
– CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) Base Pay Range: $112,597.33/yr – $152,810.66/yr Employment Type: Full-Time, Mid-level | Location: Tampa, FL | Department: Business Intelligence Responsibilities
Complete development efforts across the data pipeline to store, manage, and provision data to consumers. Actively participate in an Agile/Scrum team, following best practices. Write code to ensure performance and reliability of data extraction and processing. Support continuous process automation for data ingest. Advocate for and adhere to lean‑agile engineering principles (API‑first design, simple design, CI/CD, version control, automated testing). Work with program management and engineers to implement and document complex and evolving requirements. Help cultivate an environment that promotes customer service excellence, innovation, collaboration, and teamwork. Collaborate with a cross‑functional team that includes user experience researchers, designers, product managers, engineers, and other specialists. Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. 7+ years of IT experience, including the design, management, and solutioning of large, complex data sets and models. Experience developing data pipelines from structured and unstructured data sources. Proficiency developing ETL processes and performing test and validation steps. Proficiency manipulating data with Python, R, SQL, and SAS. Strong knowledge of big data analysis and storage tools and technologies. Strong understanding of agile principles and ability to apply them. Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and ability to apply them. Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL). Comfortable working in version control systems such as Git. Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating and consuming APIs. Knowledge of DHS standards is a plus. Extensive experience with Python is highly desirable. Ability to develop visualizations using Tableau or PowerBI. Experience developing Shell scripts on Linux. Demonstrated experience translating business and technical requirements into comprehensive data strategies and analytic solutions. Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization and ability to explain technical terms to non‑technical audiences. Commitment
