A Houston-based organization is seeking a senior IT Business Analyst to lead complex initiatives in Trading & Supply, including Crude & Products and Products Investments. This is your chance to shape technology solutions that deliver real business impact.
The IT Business Analyst will analyze business problems and requirements, assess risks and opportunities, and model processes and data flows to identify improvements. The role includes creating business cases for approval and funding, maintaining clear and traceable documentation, and ensuring delivered solutions meet business needs through testing and validation. You will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and external vendors while leading design sessions and stakeholder engagement activities.
Responsibilities
Link technical solutions to business strategy in partnership with business leaders
Capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements
Translate requirements into system functionality and ensure end-to-end traceability
Assess risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impact
Lead stakeholder management activities and large design workshops
Initiate, plan, execute, and control Business Analysis activities across projects
Maintain high-quality documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Provide advisory and facilitative support using deep domain and technical expertise
Coach and mentor at least one junior IT Business Analyst
Contribute to best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Strong Trading & Supply domain expertise (required)
Hands-on experience with Endur (required)
Proficiency in Cmotion, Deal Capture (Front Office), Settlements & Accounting (Back Office), and Tax
10+ years of corporate IT experience, including 4+ years as an IT Business Analyst
7–10 years of IT experience with team leadership exposure
Strong understanding of business process improvement, benefits realization, and risk management
Hands-on Agile experience with the ability to educate stakeholders in Agile ways of working
Excellent analytical, influencing, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
CBAP or PMI-PBA certification
Agile certifications or formal training
