Senior Accountant / Interim Controller Support (Process Documentation)
Primary Focus:
Process mapping, documentation, and light standardization.
Note:
This role focuses on infrastructure and knowledge transfer, not day-to-day month-end close execution.
Project Objective Support the incoming Controller by documenting core finance and accounting processes. The goal is to ensure all workflows are clear, repeatable, auditable, and easily transferable to the permanent team.
Scope of Responsibilities
Process Mapping:
Develop comprehensive documentation for corporate accounting functions to streamline budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting.
Financial Operations Documentation:
Capture workflows for:
Consolidating subsidiary and business unit results.
Intercompany accounting and allocations.
Monthly and year-end close procedures (targeting a 10-day close cycle).
Fixed asset management and capital expenditures.
Compliance & Audit Readiness:
Document procedures for external audits, tax filings, and internal controls to maximize the protection of company assets.
Policy Development:
Evaluate and formalize accounting policies, practices, and procedures across various divisions and departments.
Technical Accounting Manuals:
Maintain and update Finance Manuals, the Chart of Accounts, and technical issue resolution protocols.
Reporting Frameworks:
Document the production of financial-status reports, variance analysis (B/S and P&L), and expense reporting/invoice processing.
Position Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience:
10+ years of proven work experience in accounting/finance.
Experience in apparel manufacturing or 3PL logistics is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as
SAP
or
Oracle NetSuite ; knowledge of
MultiView
is a plus.
Advanced
Excel
skills (handling large data sets) are a must.
