Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Peoria Regional Health Officer. This senior public service administrator role involves performing responsible managerial and administrative work overseeing the operations of the Public Health Regional Office in Peoria, Illinois. The Regional Health Officer works independently to interpret and implement department policies, providing leadership and direction to all regional personnel responsible for delivering a variety of public health programs within the Peoria Region. Location: Peoria, IL, 61614 Posting ID: 06‑26‑0126 / 52581 Salary Range: $9,750 – $11,000 per month Scheduled Hours: Monday‑Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Essential Functions

Effectuate public health policy at the regional level. Plan and execute policies and procedures to ensure effective program operation in the Peoria Regional Office. Consult with local health department administrators in implementing local and state public health rules and regulations. Serve as full‑line supervisor. Respond to constituent inquiries. Perform other duties reasonably within the scope of the enumerated functions. Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years of college education or equivalent learning and experience. Four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization. Preferred Qualifications

Four (4) years of experience working with local health departments and communities. A Master of Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration or a similar degree. Four (4) years of knowledge of public health, state agency programs and service objectives. Four (4) years of experience planning and executing policies and procedures. At least five (5) years of experience supervising clerical, administrative, and programmatic staff. Four (4) years of experience in word processing and spreadsheet applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Benefits
