Job Summary & Qualifications The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. The CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care, serves as a resource for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient‑centered care.
Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
Support a patient‑first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
Support the facility’s efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff; recommend and implement courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a more competitive organization.
Assist with staff scheduling; manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Experience
1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Education
Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required per St. David’s Healthcare policy.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required per St. David’s Healthcare policy.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required per St. David’s Healthcare policy.
Registered Nurse, Certified in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC‑OB) – preferred.
