Mortgage Loan Collector A Mortgage Loan Collector assists Mortgage clients; processes a variety of clerical duties; collects overdue payments for mortgage loans from customers as well assistance with the bankruptcy division. Responsibilities
Attempting to reach delinquent mortgage holders by telephone at residence, place of employment or any other telephone numbers available to establish when payment is to be received Escalating attempts to reach delinquent mortgage holders after the loan is 30, 60 or 90 days past due by telephone, face-to-face meetings, notices, special letters, etc. Ordering property inspections on loans when the customer is still unreachable at 45 days of delinquency Reviewing property inspections to determine appropriate action to take regarding established guidelines Sending letters and notices to delinquent mortgage holders according to established procedures Offering and establishing appropriate foreclosure or repayment plans when needed, providing necessary documentation and back-up paperwork to collection manager for explanation and approval Recommending uncollectible loans for foreclosure and preparing foreclosure package Handling processing of payments, payment posting, posting errors, bad checks, etc. as the need arises Handling return payments in accordance with HUD, VA and FNMA, as well as bank policies and guidelines Using skip tracing techniques as appropriate when trying to locate mortgagor Backup Bankruptcy File set up Backup Credit Disputes on E-Oscar Handles escalated calls when needed Backup Investor Reporting FHA & FNMA Assist collectors with repayment plans as needed Serves as a back-up for Collector Assistant & assist escrow department during yearly payment changes. Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); A minimum of two years' related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience Proficiency in Microsoft Word required
