Structural Engineer I – Hay level 50
Vanderlande’s Distribution Engineering Department is responsible for the design, specification, and commissioning of Material Handling Systems, Warehouse Automation and Parcel Sortationsystems for our customers throughout North America. In this position, you will be working with an engineering project team in the development of an automated warehouse or parcel sortation system. You will be responsible for ensuring the design meets the customer requirements, is coordinated with other trades to minimize conflicts during installation, can be installed with efficiency, and maintains excellent communication with the site team.
Success in this role involves the ability to balance the technical requirements of the role while also having the soft skills to collaborate with the engineering team. It also involves working closely with stakeholders from other disciplines and other departments to balance priorities, improve processes and satisfy a complex set of goals. Success will require strong technical skills, creativity, strong interpersonal skills, drive, and passion. A successful candidate will demonstrate a keen intuition for when to attempt to solve problems on their own and when to enlist the help of other experienced leaders.
This role technically supports all assigned steel constructions, such as Platforms, Header steel, Grating, Handrail, and Stairs. You are the intermediate between the project teams and external engineers/suppliers
