Position Summary The Electrician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems throughout the facility. This role ensures that all electrical components, equipment, and systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with healthcare and state regulations. The Electrician plays a vital part in supporting a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for both residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, components, and equipment
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical panels, lighting, generators, and control systems
Install and maintain wiring, outlets, switches, and fixtures in accordance with electrical codes and safety standards
Diagnose and resolve electrical malfunctions in facility equipment and building systems
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal electrical/safety codes, including OSHA and NFPA standards
Coordinate repairs and maintenance to minimize operational downtime and resident disruption
Assist with energy efficiency projects and electrical system upgrades
Maintain accurate service logs, work orders, and documentation of electrical tasks completed
Support the maintenance department with general facility upkeep as needed
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or GED required
Licensed or certified Electrician (must meet state requirements)
Minimum of 3 years of electrical maintenance experience; healthcare or commercial setting preferred
Strong knowledge of electrical theory, systems, and troubleshooting techniques
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, and other applicable safety standards
Excellent problem‑solving abilities and strong attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied indoor/outdoor environments
