Job Overview
We are seeking an Engineering / Production Manager to support the engineering and manufacturing processes within our plastics injection molding department. The position focuses on quality, productivity, continuous improvement, equipment maintenance, and new product development.
Responsibilities
Manage overall operations of the Plastics Injection Molding department and select assembly areas.
Operate molding equipment including machines and auxiliary equipment.
Ensure quality measures are in place and manage tooling repairs.
Collaborate with internal and external resources on continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and administer operating and capital budgets for the Plastics Department.
Provide training for Plastics Manufacturing Engineers, Process Managers, Process Technicians and Production Technicians on processes and equipment.
Support new product projects by specifying equipment, molds, materials, and tooling.
Develop manufacturing cost estimates for new products.
Direct internal and external resources to maintain plastics equipment and molds.
Oversee direct reports: Manufacturing Engineer, Process Manager; and indirect reports: Plastics Team Leader, Production Scheduler, Process Technicians, Machine Operators, and Assembly Technicians.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business, Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years of relatable experience in engineering or manufacturing.
Proven ability to manage manufacturing teams with strong coaching skills.
