What You Will Do Support design and startup of a new 100k sq ft warehouse facility that will serve as the material logistics hub for a premier aerospace & defense manufacturing business. Collaborate with material logistics, manufacturing operations, and industrial engineering professionals in a dynamic environment.
Warehouse Layout and Facility Design
Develop and maintain detailed warehouse layout drawings using AutoCAD, DraftSight, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
Ensure all layouts comply with site safety codes and OSHA regulations.
Design efficient storage solutions and slotting analysis for materials of various dimensions and characteristics (e.g., racking systems, bin locations, high‑density bin storage, etc.).
Design material handling systems that promote safety, ergonomics, product quality, and optimize material flow.
Design ergonomic material processing workstations for receiving, picking, and pack/ship.
Optimize flow of people, equipment, and materials to minimize travel distance and handling.
Document material logistics processes to inform warehouse design (time studies, labor standard definition, etc.).
Scope equipment needed to execute material logistics processes at the new warehouse.
Evaluate and recommend automation solutions (e.g., AGVs, AMRs, conveyors, auto‑sort systems, horizontal or vertical automated material storage and retrieval solutions, etc.).
Warehouse Transition & Startup
Support planning of inventory transition from existing warehouse storage to the new facility (e.g., material transportation and tracking strategies).
Draft work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard work for new warehouse processes.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent with 4–8 years of experience in material logistics, warehouse design, and/or process optimization.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, DraftSight, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
Proficiency in time observation and process documentation.
Demonstrates strong knowledge of lean principles (e.g., 5S, value stream mapping) and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
Pay Range:
$80K to $115K
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job‑related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
Work Requirements This role is considered an on‑site position located in Wilson, NC.
You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
Shop floor environment, which may include extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Travel requirements: Due to the nature of the work, zero travel is required.
