We are seeking a Senior Horizon VDI Architect to support a large‑scale transition from Citrix to Omnissa Horizon and the migration of 40,000+ virtual workloads into Microsoft Azure for a major global financial institution. This is a hands‑on, full‑time, dedicated architecture role, embedded within the client’s cloud engineering and end‑user platforms teams.

This architect will design and guide the buildout of Horizon on Azure, integrate identity and security components, collaborate with cloud engineering on landing zone patterns, support app delivery strategies, and ensure end‑to‑end technical success.

This role is ideal for someone who has led complex Horizon deployments and understands Azure at an enterprise level.

Key Responsibilities

Lead architecture and design for Omnissa Horizon on Microsoft Azure

Define multi‑region Horizon components (Connection Servers, UAGs, App Volumes, DEM)

Integrate Horizon into Azure Landing Zones (networking, security, compute, IAM)

Work closely with cloud engineering on Terraform and infrastructure as code patterns

Partner with security teams on F5 APM, segmentation, identity flows, and SAML

Define image strategy, workload sizing, user personas, and operational patterns

Support application delivery modernization, including App Volumes, Workspace ONE, and Intune

Create architecture documentation, diagrams, and deployment patterns

Participate in technical workshops with internal and client engineering teams

Act as the senior technical resource across multiple workstreams

Required Experience

Seven or more years designing and implementing Horizon at enterprise scale

Strong hands‑on expertise with Horizon Connection Servers, UAG, App Volumes, DEM, and Workspace ONE

Experience with multi‑site and multi‑region architectures

Azure VDI experience including landing zones, virtual networking, hub‑spoke models, network security groups, and identity and access management

Experience collaborating with cloud platform teams, network and security teams, and identity and access management teams

Familiarity with Terraform or other infrastructure as code tools, including the ability to review and guide cloud engineering work

Experience in financial services or highly regulated enterprise environments preferred

Strong communication and documentation skills

Nice‑to‑have Skills

Omnissa or VMware Horizon certifications

Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification

Citrix‑to‑Horizon migration experience

F5 APM or equivalent technologies

PowerShell or automation scripting background

Ideal Candidate Profile An individual who has built enterprise Horizon platforms end‑to‑end, understands Azure at both the architectural and implementation levels, communicates clearly, collaborates well across siloed teams, documents thoroughly, and can serve as the primary technical expert for Horizon in a fast‑moving environment.

Salary range: $109,600 to $137,000 annually (including variable incentive compensation). Salary may vary by location, shift, experience, skill set, and business needs.
