Sound Devices is looking for an in-office, motivated purchasing agent and entry level planner to join our team in Reedsburg, WI. Sound Devices creates and manufactures professional audio and RF equipment used by sound professionals on sets for award-winning movies, TV shows, and documentaries. Our products serve both technical professionals and semi-pro users, with manufacturing and support based in Reedsburg, WI, and offices in Madison, WI, and London, England. Manage inventories and ensure material resources align with production schedules. Create and maintain inventory schedules and coordinate with internal departments. Ensure a cost-efficient and dependable supply of materials required for production. Provide regular production status updates to management and facilitate timely delivery of products to customers. Train in MRP and forecast management with the objective of taking on all MRP/forecast management and supporting Service Department Inventory. Support procurement activities as needed. Read, interpret, and understand the MRP system; determine required materials and generate purchase orders. Maintain ongoing project requirements after transition from Engineering; coordinate component procurement and delivery to support Service Inventory. Sourcing and purchasing materials and services for new product development. Participate in new vendor vetting and contract negotiations. Other duties as required. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required. Degree in business, logistics, inventory management, or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in material planning, production planning, inventory management, purchasing, or related role. Strong understanding of COGS performance data; experience translating a monthly sales forecast into a manufacturing forecast. CPIM accreditation or other relevant certification is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and material management (MRP) systems. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management. Excellent communication and negotiation skills; strong organization and documentation skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities. Some flexibility with office hours.
